Meet the Founders

It began with a shared vision between two UC Berkeley students, Yoosung and Veer. Both driven by a desire to build meaningful connections among creatives and entrepreneurs, they set out to create something new in their community.

The Boardroom was born as a private, invite-only gathering disguised as a chess night. What started as a simple idea became a curated meeting ground for artists, founders, designers, musicians, and other creative thinkers. Instead of using traditional networking models, Yoosung and Veer decided to blend aesthetics, exclusivity, and intentionality. The result is a community that values not only who you meet but how and where you connect.

Their first event, called "Gambit", set the tone. Attendees did more than just exchange words. They collaborated, shared insights, and turned conversations into projects. The Boardroom uses handcrafted tokens called “challenge coins” and chess-inspired branding to create a sense of mystery and purpose.

Now with over a hundred members, The Boardroom is expanding quickly. Yoosung and Veer are showing that meaningful creative spaces can be built with purpose and attention to detail. The Boardroom is more than an event series. It is a growing cultural platform shaped by the people who believe in it.
